I believe the RJ11 plugs come different sizes.   Go to  a different 
Radio Shack
  & find a clerk that knows.   While your at it, buy a crimping tool 
made for RJ11 plugs.

Make sure you put the new plug on with "4" wires in the same order.
HTH!   (If it doesn't call a V1 tech.   They are very helpful.
