RE: Ohlins shocks ... nightmare!

www.ppsracing.com Anyone try these guys? Take note of their
spring tester www.ppsracing.com/serv02.htm looks like they might
know what they are talking about and might get it right. ALSO!
Take note of the TWO rear shocks recommended
www.ppsracing.com/type46.htm. I don't know for sure, but I'm
betting I could get the right numbers if I had more adjustment.
But, I'm starting to think I have the wrong spring. I'm willing
to deal with whatever reality manifests itself.
I remember seeing something on the net, some guys with S-bikes
talking about deciphering the #'s on the spring.

OK Doug. We are almost there. The 40 mm makes a difference
because
the spring rates we are dealing with are in the order of 300
lb/inch.
I'm not sure exactly what they are, but it is something like
that. So
the preload is a bit sensitive.

But, again, you don't know what spring you have, so you don't
know what
you need to but to correct the problem. (Same boat I'm in).

My guess is the metal in the spring has fatigued so it is no
longer
what it was when new. That is a defect, but good luck getting
anyone
to warranty it !
