Fred says:
I have fitted the triple trees, without grease on the bearings.....after cleaning up that top dome nut, it is pretty scarred, may not be a good chrome candidate. Anyway, can't final assemble the yokes until the nut is replaced or refinished.
I re-bushed the swing arm last night, and to my surprise, found the through bolt is slightly bent, which prevents proper alignment of the bearings in the bushes. If I can't easily straighten, it will have to be replace. I'll try working it tonight.
Will start cleaning up wheel hubs, get ready for bearing/spindle installation.
Perhaps Saturday, I'll install the timing gears and pump, if you care to witness. Don't know yet if Raber's run is necessary yet. Forks and wheels are gonna be a serious driver here soon. Time to box chrome for shipment!
