Re: [smbc] smbc rookie
C'mon along, although you might find our riding style a little tame.
We do, however, have some BMW cruisers who will give you a run for your
money. Right Carl?
But we have fun, and it's a good crowd to enjoy breakfast and other
events with, so do join us when you can.

Hi Folks,
I came across you guys on the net. My girlfriend & I are looking to expand
our circle of riding friends. We're both 50. I've been riding year-round
since 1966, she started 5 yrs. ago, mostly when the weather is nice. We ride
H-D's ( 490 Maico in the dirt ). She rides a ' 01 Dyna, I'm building a
street-legal, supermoto style , nitrous oxide injected , Ohlins 8 1/2 " travel
suspension , 64" wheelbase Sportster.
I started racing in 1976, turned pro in 1978, I was also recruited by the
Campbell M/C as a member that year. Being a native of Hollister, I was a
charter member of that club in 1994. I'm tired of strict rules. I'm building a
bike for the first time in my life, without having to look at a AMA rule book or
by club Ok. I can't wait to go riding with the ol' lady and friends and just
go for a nice easy ride somewhere. It'll be a couple months before the bikes
done. Do you think you folks might let us tag along on one of your rides? We
now live in Concord.
Thanks for your time

Cons
ps. I read about your Boot award being given to the person that led you from
Picachuo through Clear Creek, over the peak, past the mines to New Idria.
In 1971, I was 13. I was riding a striped 1966 Honda CB 160 cc. My ol' man was
on his 40 " Bonnieville. Dear ol' dad thought it would be a good idea to
take this loop for my first " Road Ride ". We left his Texaco Station on Main
St. Hollister, rode south on hwy 25, turned left on Panoche Rd. to New Idrea,
over to Clear Creek and back to the station. Yes, I fell off once. Knock on
wood, that was the last time that I fell off a bike on a road ride. The
Sportster I'm building is designed with this act road in mind.
