The CX500 was a fine bike and I ran one for several years (from 1979 on).
The valve mechanism on mine (not sure if was subsequently changed) was
definately "solid".  In fact when I set the oilhead valve clearance I think
how very closely it resembles the CX's, with one pushrod splitting via the
rocker to drive two valves.
