Apples and oranges. When BMW started making the R100S  and RS with 2,91 rear 
gearing, the clutches were overtaxed. I replaced many  clutch plates that 
slipped soon after. Measurement showed that the housing cover  had "coned" and 
there was no longer adequate contact.
