I’ve been using an old Kriega US 10 strapped to the grab rails for small item storage the last week. Today the Dirtracks luggage rack I ordered arrived.

I removed the Kriega bag from the fender and unboxed the rack. Getting the rack out of the tape and wrap it was shipped in was almost more work than putting the rack on the bike.

Differences
The hardware that comes with the rack is bit longer than the stock hardware. I think it is long enough to mount Dirtracks side racks, too. The rear mounting screw with washer has a 13 mm head – stock is shouldered screw with a 12 mm head.

I removed the grab rails and did a test fit of the rack. There were no instructions, but it’s pretty obvious how things need to fit. The front arms go under the grab rail and the rear arms go over the rail. To do otherwise would pinch the tail light wiring.

Larger tail bag coming
I put the Kriega US 10 back on the bike for short term storage. I’ve a larger tail bag on order (Wolfman Wolf tail pack). I’m hoping it will be just the right size for day-to-day use.
