Metal repairs

On a recent SMBC ride my R1200GS decided to take a little nap in the dirt. The gear strapped to the side of the bike (this was a camping trip) couldn’t quite handle the weight of a sleeping GS. Not to worry, my trusty light weight ball peen hammer to the rescue.

This is the windscreen for my camp stove. It was in the right side tank pannier. I think the dent was caused by the handle of my camp cup, also in that right side pannier. It may not be as pretty as it was but it is still fully functional.

The strap loop may have hit a rock. The Andy Strapz holding the H2W bag containing tent, tarp, chair, and camera monopod, didn’t budge. Some love taps to straighten out the area of the lid around the strap loop mounting holes got the strap loop in its proper orientation. I used a dab of the silicone around the screws to keep the lid watertight.
