Groeger Special Tooling: 2000 and earlier
2600 Bay Road, Redwood City, CA 94063
This is Joe Groeger in 1999 scoping out the condition of the large bearing from the rear-end of a 1966 BMW R69S. It’s an example of the type of things that used to happen on Saturday mornings at Groeger Special Tooling. (He found indications of pitting on the race – the bearing was replaced).
Joe passed away in February 2020, a few weeks shy of his 100th birthday.
2000
Sometimes we ride newer bikes – even non BMWs! These shots were taken in front of the restaurant on Sep 30, 2000.
It must be Saturday…. you can tell by looking at the old bikes parked in front of the shop in early March, 2000.
Sometimes the group gets quite large. The following pictures were taken in January 2000 (before the rain started).
1999
Everyone is smiling at the end, so I guess Randy’s transmission finally got restored to working order.
After breakfast some return to the shop to work on some project or another. What kind of projects? Here are some examples:
Dick sent me these pictures with the caption: Here’s what I’ve been doing with all those old cameras. Two of the three pictures are of me, but I’m going to post them anyway!
